Dooter

Effective October 1, 2026

Dooter is a pretend checkout toy for children, for iPhone and Android, made by Drake Apps, LLC ("Drake Apps," "we," "our," or "us"). This policy explains what Dooter does with information.

In short: Dooter does not collect, store, share or sell any personal information, from children or anyone else.

What Dooter does not do

  • It does not ask for or collect names, email addresses, ages, locations, contacts, photos, voice recordings or any other personal information.
  • It has no accounts and no sign-in.
  • It shows no advertising and contains no in-app purchases.
  • It contains no analytics, crash reporting, tracking or other third-party software development kits.
  • It does not connect to the internet. The Android app does not request internet access at all.
  • It does not link out to websites, other apps or social networks.

Camera (iPhone only)

On iPhone, Dooter can use the front camera as a light sensor, to tell when a child holds an item over the top of the screen. With your permission, the app reads one brightness value from each camera frame, on the device, and then discards the frame. No photos or video are viewed, recorded, saved or sent anywhere. You can decline camera access, or turn it off at any time in the iPhone's Settings app. Dooter then uses the proximity sensor, or lets you tap the screen to scan.

Sensors (Android)

On Android, Dooter reads the phone's proximity sensor or light sensor, on the device, to tell when an item is held over the screen. These readings are used immediately and never stored or sent anywhere.

Settings stored on the device

Dooter remembers a handful of preferences on the device itself: which pretend shop is chosen, the scanner sound, the sensor and sensitivity settings, whether tap-to-scan and vibration are on, and whether the welcome screen has been seen. Dooter never sends them anywhere, and we never see them. Like any app's data, they may be included in the phone's own iCloud or Google backup, which belongs to your account. Deleting the app deletes them from the device.

Children's privacy

Dooter is designed for children. Because it collects no personal information at all, there is nothing for a parent to review or delete. This is in line with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the GDPR and similar laws.

Changes to this policy

If Dooter ever changes how it handles information, we will update this policy on this page first, with a new effective date at the top.
